What have you been doing since graduation? I went on to play at Hampden-Sydney College, where I was a 2x All conference player and set the school record with a 35-game hit streak. I graduated in 2015 with a degree in Mathematical Economics. I've spent the last five years in the financial industry, and was also fortunate to come back and be an assistant at Cosby for a few years.
What are you doing now? I am scheduled to get married this September (after a Covid postponement this spring) to my beautiful fiancé, Courtney Jones. I also recently started a new job as a consultant with Employee Benefits of Virginia.
Do you have one specific play or game you remember that stands out in your mind? If yes, please tell us what. There were so many great moments I had during my years playing. The one that I always look back on was hitting 4 Homeruns in one week against James River and Manchester my senior season to clinch the regular season district championship (and have Coach Lowery's first undefeated district season.)
What is one of your favorite memories of Cosby Baseball? Winning the regional championship my junior season at The Diamond, 8-7 in 8 innings.
How did Cosby Baseball help shape or prepare you for your future? The biggest lesson I learned playing under Coach Lowery was that you need to work hard and focus every day, but you can also have fun in the process. That thought process has allowed me to take so much pressure off myself in stressful moments, and know that my preparation was going to set me up for success. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
