Obituary

Scott K. Ducott, of Scarborough, ME on August 8, 2015 at the age of 56.

Scott was born on September 19, 1958 in Malden, MA, the second of four children born to Richard and R. Jean Ducott. He was raised in Melrose, MA, and graduated from Melrose High School Class of 1976. He went on to attend college in Connecticut at the University of Hartford, where he met his future wife, Jane Rogers. His successful 30+ year career in the cable television industry with Continental Cablevision and TimeWarner Cable, took his family to reside in New York, Wisconsin, and most recently Scarborough, Maine where he loved being close to the ocean, spending his free time kayaking, beaching, clamming, and tending to his beloved garden and yard. He was known as one who loved to host gatherings, and especially putting on fabulous firework displays for his neighbors.

Scott is survived by his wife Jane and their two children, Sarah and Will; his mother R. Jean Ducott of Melrose, MA; his brother Richard Ducott of Boston, MA; his sister Tara Cosco and her husband Vincent of Litchfield, NH; his sister Tracy Moroney and her husband Daniel of S.Weymouth, MA; brother-in-law Timothy Rogers of Florida, niece Janelle Ducott, and three nephews Rick Ducott, Michael and David Cosco. He also leaves behind his Uncle Robert Ducott, as well as his cousins that cherished him so. He was predeceased by his father, Richard Ducott.

Ducott, 56, of Scarborough, died Saturday after falling off the jetty at Pine Point Beach in Scarborough and drowning, Scarborough police said in recent statements posted on Facebook.  Additionally, The Associate Press reported Tuesday that town officials in Old Orchard Beach reported five water rescues involving 10 swimmers off of Old Orchard Beach Monday.  Life guards cited strong rip currents as the reason for the spike in rescues, according to the Associated Press.
